California Sentinel-2 Hillshade Tiles
Elevation tiles are from The National Map are are 1/3 arc-second resolution (about 10-meters). Hillshade (produced in QGIS) for each row is based on the average Sentinel-2 solar azimuth (SSW-SW from north to south in California) and lowest solar elevation (about 47° to 53° from north to south in California) from the beginning of spring to beginning of fall, to help determine pixels that are in sunlight at Sentinel-2 imaging time for that 6 month time period (they are also useful in showing topography). To get precise values for each scene, download an elevation raster and calculate hillshade for each image used, based on image-specific solar azimuth and elevation values.
