About GIS Ag Maps
GIS Ag Maps was established in 2011 and provides free GIS and remote sensing information mostly regarding crop agriculture but also about other topics, such as wildfire, water/algae blooms, and snow. Information on the website includes data downloads, access to free GIS software and satellite imagery, as well as tutorials to learn to apply the free software and imagery. GIS Ag Maps has been cited in many publications and web pages over the years because of the information we provide. If you search on Google search for "gisagmaps.com pdf" (the extension was recently changed from .com to .org), and move forward to about the end of the second search page (past the initial GIS Ag Maps pages), you can find publications we are cited in.
A main purpose of ours is to promote and describe how to use useful free software, imagery, and elevation data available today.
Free tutorials are designed for ArcGIS and free QGIS users.
Free data downloads can be used in any GIS software.
Custom Mapping or Statistical Products can be developed for agriculture or other purposes; Contact Us with questions or for information.
